Loved itExcellent 2nd book in this series。 Couldn’t put it down。 Absolutely loved the characters and the plot kept me captivated。 Highly recommended。
Nicole,
I had never read any of her books before, so this weekend I read the first book before reading this one。 You don't have to do that, but I like to know more about the side characters, so I like to read in order。 I have to say I loved this one more than the first。 I received a complimentary copy to read and give an honest review。 And I thought this one was so beautiful。 I felt more connected to Evelyn and Frosty, and I thought their story was beautiful。“She’s a lady。 A literal, English-born-and-br I had never read any of her books before, so this weekend I read the first book before reading this one。 You don't have to do that, but I like to know more about the side characters, so I like to read in order。 I have to say I loved this one more than the first。 I received a complimentary copy to read and give an honest review。 And I thought this one was so beautiful。 I felt more connected to Evelyn and Frosty, and I thought their story was beautiful。“She’s a lady。 A literal, English-born-and-bred lady。 With a title。 She’s a countess。 I’m a cowboy。 And this—” He gestured with wide open arms。 “This isn’t a castle, Abram。” Frosty stole my heart in Silver Dollar Duke。 Yes, he didn't have a major part in the first book。 I guess there is just something about the strong silent type。 Plus, he has these fierce blue eyes, and I've got a thing for those。 (that's what attracted me to my husband first) so I knew I was going to love his story, and I was not wrong。 The way he treats the kids and Evelyn just melted my heart。 And Evelyn was such a loveable character, and you felt for her。 Her determination and strength were wonderful。 I love the side characters and the roles they play in both books。 I loved the kids and the emotions they brought into this story。 If you're looking for a clean historical romance where you get a mashup of Victorian meets Western, then this book is for you。 。。。more
Meredith,
You know what I love about books? They transport you。 They take places you would never be able to go otherwise。 They pull you through time and space。 You go in the future, the past, on a ship, to a castle, back to high school, to a different state or country。 They suck you in to the point that when you look up, you're surprised at your surroundings。Like this book! I expect my husband to come rambling into the living room with spurs and a cowboy hat, not basketball shorts and a laptop。 (I'm not d You know what I love about books? Because I think that's yucky。- romance is starting!!- I like how they care about education- this is the sweetest! Their relationship is beautiful- I really like Frosty。 He's just so good。- the hug was so sweet。- this book makes me smile a lot- darlin' 😍😍😍 。。。more
Karen Thornell,
If I tell you I loved this book, it wouldn’t be a strong enough description。 SO GOOD。 SO SO GOOD。 Sally has woven the sweetest, most realistic love story and I adored every single second of reading it! This is one of the first times that I was not only intrigued by both characters within a handful of pages, but I already loved them! Every aspect of this book was so well done, from the history, love story, side characters, and plot。 You won’t be disappointed by this one! 😍

So good from start to finish。 Evelyn and Chris are an unlikely, but perfect match。 I love this new series that mixes English nobility with Arizona ranchers。 It’s a unique combination of Victorian and Cowboy that works so well。 Evelyn and Chris get married for convenience and have to find their way towards love in the unusual sequence。 Sally does such a good job with this and there are some great romantic scenes between these two as Evelyn learns to trust。 I also loved that children were present。 It creates a different kind of challenge in a new relationship。 In my personal story, we also had a child that was not biologically mine, that eventually asked to call me mom。 I could relive the joy when reading about how these sweet children adapted and desired to be loved and part of a family。 You don’t want to miss this one if you like Victorian, cowboy, marriage of convenience, or romance!I received an ARC for my review。 The opinions are my own。 。。。more
Romance Me,
This was my very first Victorian read and I must say I was hooked right from the beginning。 Sally has this great ability to catch you right away with her words and descriptions that will make you think you are a part of that story yourself。I loved the slow and sweet development of affection between the two main characters, Chris and Evelyn, and it made me not want to stop before knowing how it all turned out。Also all other (side) characters are lovable, real and funny as well。 It was really nice This was my very first Victorian read and I must say I was hooked right from the beginning。 Sally has this great ability to catch you right away with her words and descriptions that will make you think you are a part of that story yourself。I loved the slow and sweet development of affection between the two main characters, Chris and Evelyn, and it made me not want to stop before knowing how it all turned out。Also all other (side) characters are lovable, real and funny as well。 It was really nice to get lost in their world。I will for sure now follow up on the first book within this series as well as check out the third one next summer。 。。。more

I instantly loved every character in this book! They all had such an openness about them that drew me in。 I’m impressed with Sally’s writing skills in giving you a grasp of one’s character with just one line or a small detail。 I loved everything about this novel and how it all came about。 Chris is the perfect gentleman and just who Evelyn needed to be appreciated as a person rather than a trophy wife。 I’m very much looking forward to Ed’s story in the third book! Monica Ahlström,
Some books you rush trough because you so badly wants to read the end, while other books are so interestingly written and such a delight that you just want to savour every page as they all are a tresure and you wants to take your time to enjoy each word and each chapter of it's own, trusting in the author giving you an ending worthy of the wait, this is such a book。Chris "Frosty" Morgan and Evelyn Lyon, countess, are both doing the best of their lives until they are by fate thrown into the fire Some books you rush trough because you so badly wants to read the end, while other books are so interestingly written and such a delight that you just want to savour every page as they all are a tresure and you wants to take your time to enjoy each word and each chapter of it's own, trusting in the author giving you an ending worthy of the wait, this is such a book。Chris "Frosty" Morgan and Evelyn Lyon, countess, are both doing the best of their lives until they are by fate thrown into the fire without a clue as to how they are going to solve their problems。 Having to solve ones difficulties of ones own is bad enough, but having the responsabilty for children makes the burden of those hardships tenfolds, even hundredfolds, heavier, and this is the place they both finds themselves in when they meet。 And little did Chris know that the small kindness he shows Evelyn will in the end change his life compleately and hers too and those of all the children in their care。I thorully enjoyed returning to the KB Ranch in Arizona and meeting everyone there again and especially getting to know Frosty a little better, he sure was worthy of getting his own story。 The life on a ranch in the American West was very different than the English society that Evelyn was used to, but along all the unusual things she experience, the most striking is the kindness the people, total strangers, are showing her and her daughter。 Belonging can come most unexpected and in very unfamiliar setting, but are one of the truest treasures of life。 Sally Britton has, as usual, written another story full of warmth and making human everyday interactions the true adventures of life, just the way I like my books the best。 。。。more
